Caring for a child is a hard and wonderful calling. Figuring out the what and how of raising children to know and fear the Lord can feel overwhelming at times. As a parent or guardian, it’s easy to feel lost and unsure about where to start or what to do.
While God calls parents to be the primary disciplemakers in the lives of their children, the Church also has a role in bringing up children in the way of the Lord. As the people of God, we are all called to come alongside families in teaching, encouragement and support.*

Strong Marriages Are the Key to Strong Homes
If our homes are centered around our kid's sports, musical instruments, or future, then we have missed the point. On the other hand if our homes are centered around furthering our careers, getting the next "toy," or even being the most active in church, then we have missed the point.
Our homes should be fully centered, first and foremost on God's Kingdom and within that framework; God's plan for us as husbands and wives. Just as Jesus says, "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:33) We would say, "Seek first a healthy marriage and sports, futures, careers, and ministry will take care of themselves." So with Christ first, fight for your marriages, husbands love your wives, wives respect your husbands (Ephesians 5:33) and rest in the peace of Christ knowing God is in control of your homes.
